Ever since the exit of Gareth Salgate the immediate past manager of the Three lions, the team has been without a manager. Now, a new manager has been appointed to take his place.

England's incoming manager will take over on January 1, 2025.
The 51-year-old, who has been unemployed since leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the last campaign, takes over as permanent coach in place of Englishman Gareth Southgate. He is the Three Lions' third foreign manager, following Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.

Tuchel has the trophy-winning background that the FA is looking for to help break a 58-year drought to win a major event. He has previously coached Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich.

The FA's reluctance to choose an Englishman to its top position, however, has led to criticism of the plan.

Anthony Barry, an English coach who co-worked with Tuchel at Bayern Munich, will support him.
In a statement released by the FA, Tuchel said, "I am extremely proud to have been given the honor of leading the England team."
"The game in this country has always held a special place in my heart, and it has already provided me with some amazing experiences. Being able to play for England is an enormous honor, and it's thrilling to have the chance to work with this unique and gifted group of players.

Although Tuchel won the German Cup with Dortmund and league titles with PSG and Bayern, his best achievements occurred while he was playing for Chelsea in England.

Thomas Tuchel

Only a few months after taking over in 2021, he guided the Blues to Champions League success. He also won the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup with the London team.
In a risky early decision that did not work out, Chelsea's new ownership group fired Tuchel in September 2022.
He succeeds Southgate permanently. During his four major tournaments as manager, he guided the Three Lions to back-to-back European Championship finals, as well as a World Cup semifinal and quarterfinal.

Since the 1966 World Cup, England has yet to win a major men's competition at home.

"We are overjoyed to have one of the world's top coaches, Thomas Tuchel, on board," FA CEO Mark Bullingham stated.

"We have gone through the applicant pool since Gareth resigned, meeting with several coaches and assessing them in light of those standards."Thomas's extensive knowledge and determination made him stand out and was really impressive.
Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Cole Palmer are just a few of the highly skilled players Tuchel will inherit and will be among the favorites for the 2026 World Cup.
